Ben
Benny Boo.. The day you came into my life was truly a blessing. I am glad the woman that rescued you from the pound had no idea you were over 60 lbs (weight restriction at the apartment). I am also glad the vet never told me how bad the heartworm was that you had. If she did, I might not have had you treated for heartworm. Then again you had my heart when pushed your nose between my head and the couch and wiggled your body in between me and the couch till I was using your tummy as a pillow. You brought so many smiles to mom, grandma, janet, me, and every one else’s paths you crossed. You were truly the best first dog a person could ask for. I am sorry my words don’t do your life justice, but know in your heart you were deeply loved. I am sorry we had to let you go, but to see you in pain hurt too much. So off to the rainbow bridge I sent you. RIP 11/24/10

Radja
You brought joy to our heart. You were a beautiful girl from the start. From chasing your football and your flashlight, you showed the innocence a good natured soul can bring. You made our life complete. You will never be replaced and your memory will remain. We think of you everyday. When we think of you, we think of inner peace and the happiness you always brought the family. Your quirky ways and your lazy days always put a smile on our face. You my dear, were the perfect soul and the greatest dog we ever owned. We will always love you and we miss you dearly. Thank you for sharing your life with us, Princess Radja Belle, the belle of the ball.

Holly
Our Li'l Holly Golly was born on Halloween, 1997. My wife "rescued her" from the flea market early that December. She was a beautiful chocalate lab/pointer mix...a bowl full of cocoa! Holly was as sweet a beast as has ever trod the Earth! She never met a stranger! She often had to be gently "shooed" away from visitors after a thorough hand washing/licking. More often still, she had to be more strongly encouraged to give "her" visitors a little peace! My wife and I commented through the years how she was such a sweet and loving dog she was, a truly loving companion. She aged gracefully and welcomed our new GSD in late 2008, after our GSD mix, Tori, passed away at age 14 1/2. After nearly 13 years of loving her family unconditionally, we learned over the summer that she had cancer. We watched her closely, ensured her comfort, and enjoyed her final months of health. Inevitably, her health declined very quickly over her last few days, a nd she lost her battle with cancer on 10.22.10. With my wife and I present with the veterianrian, we made sure she knew she was loved through to her very last breath. We love you Holly and miss you terribly.

Tori
My beautiful GSD mix pup was my college graduation gift to myself on May 9, 1992. I literally left Carter-Finley Stadium at NCSU and went straight to the Orange Co. Animal Shelter with my dad to pick her up. She was just 11 weeks old. My wife and I were married later that summer. Tori was an incredibly intelligent, sweet, and loyal girl. While initially she was our "child", it was she who later become more of a friend and mother / caretaker to us as she aged. She welcomed our daughter as "her own" in 1998 and our little lab / pointer "flea market rescue girl" in late 1997. She loved her family. During our years of graduate school she was our source of emotional stability, somehow encouraging us and providing us great joy as we toiled with little. As all good dogs are, she was our true friend, confidant, and protector. Four years after her passing she is most sorely missed. We still love you Tori!

Gretchen
I have enjoyed reading the sweet and emotional postings here on Rainbow page (although they make me cry!). You all express so well the way I felt when I lost my Gretchen girl. She was with me almost 13 years. I miss her every day. Please check out her slide show that I created in her memory. Copy and paste the following link into your browser, turn up the sound, and enjoy. http://www.vimeo.com/2850212
