Thunder
I'm writing just to let you know that in 2007 I fostered an older dog through your organization, Thunder, who was given up by his owners at the age of 7 years old. I ended up keeping him because he was such a great dog, and got along beautifully with my other senior male GSD. Sadly, Thunder had some hip problems, and also later some front-end elbow problems, and the poor guy had such difficulty walking that I couldn't let him suffer any longer. I had him euthanized two weeks ago at my vet, he was 12 years old, and still a wonderful dog to the end. He had five years with me, and only 2 years with his "brother" Tucker, but those years hopefully were the best ones of his life. I called him Thunder Jones, or sometimes Mr. Jones, and he would wag his tail so happily whenever I talked to him. He never got the hang of playing with a ball, he could never catch it or figure out how it bounced, but he loved a big old stuffed piggy toy he had and would sleep with it almost every night. He loved to take a long walk and see what was around the neighborhood, but these walks got shorter and shorter until he could barely walk out to the road to the mailbox and back without limping so badly that I knew he must be in agony, even with the various medications he was taking for pain. Anyway, this is making me cry and I'm still at work so I have to end this now, just wanted to say thank you for such an awesome dog. Laura M

The best friend and companion anyone could ever have. We'll never forget all the fun and happiness that surrounded you. Still can't believe you'r e gone pups, but you have left nothing but happy memories. Me and your mum will love you always Mr juke. See you on the other side.

Hershey
You were an emaciated rescue. We'll never know how awful your first three years had been. We can only imagine. We were so happy to see you flourish and become a magnificent 90-pound fellow. We're just so glad to have had you in our hearts and lives for the past eight years. You were Mommy's Big Boy. All who met you loved you; especially the cats. We're so sorry that you're gone, but the doctors couldn't save you from what was probably cancer. We miss you so much.

Rex, you were abused before we rescued you and to show your gratefulness for having done so, you excelled and won 1st place in obedience school and the instructor asked me to bring him to every class that she had to show our great you were and oh,how you loved those long rides sitting up proudly on the electric bed in our leisure van purchased just for you because of the spinal cancer that was slowly approaching. You will always be in our heart and tears as we live out the remainder of our lives waiting to meet you, CJ and Chelsea on the Rainbow Bridge. We love and miss you so much Rex.
