COURTESY LISTING - Please contact person below with inquiries. ~1 year old. Kids, dogs, and cats TBD Date Posted: 10/19/2015 King is an amazing, happy German Shephard who has had a rough life so far. His previous owner had him chained to a tree outside, 24/7, rarely gave him attention and neglected him. He was attacked by a pitbull while he was chained up and hurt pretty badly. His owner refused to take him to the vet, so I stepped in and took him to the vet myself, and I've been nursing him back to health at my home. His previous owner gave up all rights of ownership to me. I have grown attached to King, but unfortunately, I can't keep him, so I want to do what is best for King and find him a LOVING home. He is a very happy dog and craves love and attention. He is also very smart as all GSD's are. I taught him how to sit and laydown, as well as taking the bone "easy" from my hand and he now sits while waiting to get fed instead of jumping. He really needs a home where he is the only dog since he really hasn't had much socialization or training with other dogs. He does want to play with my little dog, but because King is so big, plus he gets excited to see Rookie, I am afraid he will accidentally hurt him. I am probably over paranoid and protective. He still has a small area of the upper part of his leg that is still healing and currently still has a cone on his head until that heals. When he was attacked, he had injuries under his chin, on the side of his face and on his right leg where the skin was torn back so deep that you could see his bones and muscles. He was sedated and stitched up, had a splint on for a couple weeks while it healed, and now all the wounds are healed except the one area at the top of his leg (just looks like a scratch) that is taking longer to heal due to the area its in. But over all, he is all healed. Again, a very happy, smart dog that loves attention, loves to love you, loves his belly rubbed and just needs someone to take care of him, love him and teach him things. He will be very loyal to you. He only barks if he hears something outside which is good cause its a great security system. lol. But other then that he doesn't bark often at all. He is a year old, beautiful brown and black coat, has not been neutered yet (due to the expenses I've already incurred has been a strain on me financially and I can't afford it) but has had his first round of shots. (The previous owner had not taken him to the vet once in his life, so when I took him after the attack, I got him his shots) If you have any other questions, feel free to call or email anytime.
