HELLA ~ 6 years old. Kids and dogs TBD. Not good with cats.
GSRA Adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only
Hello world! My name is Hella, and I am a gorgeous six-year-old red sable in search of a new family. My story is a little sad, but now that I've entered the Rescue, things are looking up again. I am a working line Shepherd, and I was imported from Germany. My owner had done a good bit of training with me, but sadly, she got sick and passed away. One of her friends took me but sadly after a few months dropped me off at the scary place called the shelter.
I am doing well in my foster home. I am a very well mannered girl and know several commands. I do have a very high prey drive, so no cats or other small animals for me. I absolutely love to play fetch, and I need a family that will play with me at least several times a day to let me get my energy out. Once I have played with a stick or with a ball for a while, I'm quite content to just hang around the house and be quiet and watch what's going on. I'm very food motivated, and listen very well. I am a nice solidly built girl, and right at 65 pounds.
I can be a little selective about my doggy friends. I like some but not others. And I would probably do better with a male or as an only dog.
From foster mom:
Hella is a very nice and beautiful dog. She listens very well, and is very eager to please. She is a working line, and has had some training, so an individual with experience with the working lines would be preferred. She can be very intense when playing fetch, but is not really high stung like a lot of the working like dogs are. She'll be a great companion animal as well. She is healthy and spayed but does, however, have a condition called Pannus. This is an eye disease that requires daily medicated drops. Hella is very patient for this, and will sit and let you hold her head and apply the eyedrops.
Hella is a wonderful dog who's going to be a great addition to some lucky family
