Introducing Betty!! Betty is an adorable little petite shepherd mix. Not quite sure what she is mixed with, but we suspect it is some sort of cattle dog. Betty is small and compact, only 37 pounds. She is nimble and quick!! Betty had obviously had a traumatic existence up to now. She is very shy and cautious and timid when first meeting people. It takes a few days for her to warm up and start to trust you. She seems to crave attention, but is also hand shy. She will happily bounce around you and wag her tail, but tends to cringe if you approach her too quickly. Betty is very sweet, and when she trusts you she is quite animated and fun to be around. She has a great smile and will prance around with a very happy and bouncy gait when she feels secure. She needs a home where there will be a lot of patience and positive reinforcement to let her know that she will not be abused again. Betty enjoys the company of other dogs as long as they are not to rough with her, and once she makes friends with her doggie peers, she loves to play chase and tag. Betty seems curious about cats, but is not aggressive. As soon as a cat hisses at her she backs away. Betty is just a sweet young girl who needs time to grow and trust and see that the world has a lot to offer. She is just a delightful little dog who will make a wonderful companion to some lucky family willing to spend time with her and give her the time needed to come out of her shell. Betty is HW positive, and needs to be treated for this.
