German Shepherd Dog / Siberian Husky / Mixed (medium coat) : : Female : : Young : : Large
(2 yrs old) Good with dogs and kids. Cats and small dogs with caution and supervision. Bracken was a shelter rescue and due to be PTS when GSRA stepped in and saved her. Bracken is a very outgoing, very happy and very smart girl. She is highly food motivated and therefore highly trainable. Her foster mom taught her to "sit" within 12 hours and "wait" within 24 hours - such a smart girl. She now sits before eating, before coming out of her crate and before being let outside. She plays and gets along great with the foster family's GSD and 3 young children. She will do best with an active family that includes her in a lot of activities and that will play and interact with her. She needs some supervision around cats and very small dogs as she sometimes gets excited by them and she doesn't realize she is too large to play with them. Bracken will also need a family that will take the leadership role and not allow her to get away with things they don't allow. Once she learned that her foster mom was the alpha, she quickly learned to follow the rules. She loves to go on car rides, play catch & fetch, she crates quietly at night and during downtime, has had no potty accidents inside and is just an all around great girl.
