(10 months old) Hello! My name is Bruno and I am P-U-P-P-Y!! I am a very well behaved pup though, at least my foster mom and dad tell me that every day! I love to PLAY, especially with my foster canine buddies. I am energetic, but what do you expect from an eight month old? I love to go for walks, have belly rubs, play with my siblings, play with my toys, and I give the BEST puppy kisses ever! I am very smart, but I don't want to toot my own horn, so I'll let my foster mom tell you about that. I have SO much to give! I am a very happy, go lucky pup, and would love nothing more than to be by your side for a long time to come.

Note from foster mom: Bruno is a very handsome bi-colored black and tan GSD. Even though he is only 9 months old, he is very respectful in the house and knows his boundaries if shown. He is very loving, trusting of people, well mannered, smart, gentle, and trust worthy. I don't have to even crate him when we go to work. Nothing has ever been destroyed in the house. That is a BIG plus for such a young dog, and I have only had him for two weeks. Part of what you will need to do is to make sure that he gets exercise and that he has something to occupy his time. He plays SOOOOO much with my guys that it probably tires him out. He catches his second wind quickly though. He is crate trained however, completely house trained, is wonderful with children, knows how to use doggy doors, knows sit, come, leave it, watch me, stay and lie down (about 50% of the time), walks pretty well on the leash, he sits for his food, and sits before going for his walks. All of this in two weeks- he is a smart pup! He really wants to please and be loved. If you invest the time and effort, further obedience training could be accomplished quite easily.

We did find out on a wellness exam that he has a dysplastic right hip. This is all too common in GSD's and large breed dogs. He is not experiencing ANY problems with it, and it would not have been picked up on in the first place had the vet not been so very thorough. What the dysplastic hip means is that it may have the propensity to pop out of joint and over time, cause some arthritis. Even though this may not seem like good news, the fact that it was found out so early in his life means a much greater chance of positive things being done to help control it. So in essence, it was a good thing that it was discovered. He will need to be on supplements (Glucosamine and fish oil, or Cosequin), have moderate low impact exercise, and be a good healthy weight. He should not be allowed to become overweight. If you want a jogging buddy, then Bruno will not be the dog for you. He can run and play like all pups do since the back and forth motion will strengthen several muscle groups. What has to be avoided is the constant high impact on his joints, such as in catching frisbees in mid air and being a running partner. Bruno will be neutered on 7/29 and micro chipped at the same time.

Please do not let the hip issue keep you from being interested in this wonderful young boy. He has a lot of love and endless entertainment to give. He absolutely thrives on being part of a family. We absolutely adore this dog!!
