Hi! My name is Buddy and I am a pure breed German shepherd (I am just wearing a Chow costume) hehehe. My foster mom says I am really funny, so I hope you liked my joke!

No, seriously, don’t let my teddy bear exterior fool you; I am really a teddy bear deep down. Hehehe Ok, I will stop with the jokes now. Let me tell you the beginning of the story and I will let my foster mom finish up. It all started back in 2008, when a man found me wondering the streets and he took me home to his family. I really thought I had hit the big time, but I soon found that this was really no place for a baby dog. The man’s wife didn’t like dogs. She told her husband she didn’t like dogs, but he really wanted me. I thought, well maybe I can convince her. So, in the house I went and I was happy to be there. I found all kinds of baby toys to play with. No one told me that baby dogs couldn’t play with them until I got in trouble for doing it! Then I got hair all over the house so the wife said I must live outside. I did ok for a while, but I got lonely so I chewed on the door and tried to get back inside. I got in trouble for that. Then the sky started to fall one day and I was TERRIFIED, so I chewed through a door under the house. I got in trouble for that too. My family tried to get rid of me. They put ads in the paper and called shelters, but no one wanted me. I guess it was because I was a “bad” dog.

One day, the wife found GSRA online and she sent a very nice email about me and pictures of my handsome face. A couple of days later this nice lady came out and she petted me, rubbed my belly, fed me and kissed me on the nose! She said I was a good dog! A good dog, can you believe it? She then told the wife not to hit me anymore and then she went away. I was devastated; she left me there. But, two days later she came back! I was scared at first, because life has been hard for me, but I went with her and now I live at her house and I have a girl, I have 3 dogs friends (ok, two, one doesn’t like me) and I have a cat!! I like them all very much. Well, my foster mom says she has some things to add. I am sure I have said it all, but here she is. (She isn’t as funny as me, if she tells a joke please laugh)

From Foster mom:

Buddy is a GSD/Chow mix. He is the most lovable, sweet, playful, and well-behaved little man. When I first went to assess him I thought I was going to find a rough yard dog who had little socialization skills. Instead I found a perfect little cuddle bug that was just waiting for someone to love him and not hit him. Since he has been in my house he has not chewed anything or had an accident in the house. He just wants to be with his people; it is as simple as that! However, he does shed, that much about him was true! I don’t think I have met a more gentle dog! He truly likes everyone and everything. He continues to be a little scared with new people, but he QUICKLY warms up to them. New noises and fast movements still scare him. The first time I reached out to pet Buddy, he closed his eyes and dropped to the ground! That absolutely broke my heart. Buddy is NOT a bad dog; actually he is a highly intelligent teddy bear that deserves the BEST possible home. We are working on his leash walking skills. Buddy never went on a walk before coming here, but I am confident he will be a pro before long. If you would like a dog who: gets along with all dogs, cats, people, loves to hug and kiss and play fetch without bringing the ball back and last but not least, leave soft sweet fur all over your house, then Buddy is the dog for you!! If you decide to open your home and heart to Buddy you will not regret it.
