Meet Pretty Miss Piper! She is a purebred (AMAZING lineage), 3.5 year old GSD who is spayed and up to date on all vetting. She is currently living with her long time trainer in Chesapeake, VA after her owners chose to relinquish her in September of '24. She has quite the long story, but it all comes down to her ending up with a family that just couldn't handle her or fulfill her needs.
Over the 2+ years I've been working with Piper, I've absolutely fallen in love! It's rare to find a GSD with such an amazing blend of working drive but also an "off switch" making her a great family dog as well. When she loves, she loves with every fiber of her being, and in her last home the children were her everything! When she isn't seeking love and affection cuddled up on the couch, she wants to WORK and interact with her humans. From day one, her eagerness to please and learn new things has been one of her best qualities, so the world is truly your oyster when it comes to sport work or any kind of training with this girl. So far, she's done phenomenal with advanced obedience, off leash recall, introduction to scent work/tracking, and would be a great candidate for things like: Agility, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, FastCAT, and Frisbee sports! With these things in mind, we're really hoping to get her into a home that will fulfill her with some form of sport work or advanced training opportunities. Over the years, she has boarded and happily coexisted with up to 12 other different dogs at a time without any issues. So long as she is appropriately introduced, she has done well with other dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages, and genders! We think she would love to have a doggie sibling in her new home, so long as it's the right match of course. On the flip side, she does have decent prey drive so small animals like cats and chickens wouldn't be ideal. At this point, Piper is a bit of a diamond in the rough as we continue to work through the damage that came from the neglect in her previous home. After spending almost a year without leaving her house, she has become a little unsure in public places but is quickly rebuilding confidence every day! She would need an experienced owner to help her continue to grow and become the best version of herself, so please reach out if you've worked with GSDs or other high drive working breeds in the past. *Homes without a yard, condos, and apartments will not be considered.* If you're looking for a true companion, a partner in crime, an adventure buddy, and a dog that would live and die for you, Piper is your girl!
