GIZMO ~5 years old. Good with dogs & Older Considerate Kids. Cats TBD. Needs companion animal GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only Who remembers Gizmo from the movie Gremlins? He was an adorable, very sweet Mogwai who stole the hearts of millions. Let me tell you he’s got nothing on this Gizmo. Lol. He is just as sweet and lovable as he can be. He’s about 5 yrs old and loves going for walks, car rides or, just hanging around. Gizmo loves being with his people. He can be a little shy when he first meets you but give him a few minutes and he is a love bug. The first time I met him, he came right up to me, tail wagging like he‘d known me forever. He loves for you to throw a toy so he can run after it. Of course, he doesn’t always bring it back but does better when you have another toy ready to throw. Gizmo loves to play with other dogs but also knows how to settle down in the house. There is no need to crate this fellow because he is great in the house and has free reign 24/7 with my dog. He is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door to go out to potty on his own. Gizmo knows some basic commands and is willing to learn new things for a treat. He takes treats with a soft mouth and shares his toys willingly. He is doing well with training but will need someone who will continue to work with him. I haven’t had him around any kids but with his temperament, I think he would do well with them. Gizmo would love a family who had another dog that likes to play and a fenced yard so they could run and play. He would probably do better in a home that was more on the quiet side. Gizmo does bark when he hears something outside. He will also bark sometimes when someone approaches you while on a walk and will need a slow intro. Once he smells them, he is fine. He is currently underweight but we are working on that. He is also heartworm positive but no need to worry because GSRA will take care of that.
