German Shepherd Dog / Mixed : : Female (spayed)

Brida is a sweet, healthy 5 to 6 year old (estimated) German shepherd. She is friendly and loves kids, adults, and new people. She is playful and enjoys car rides, belly rubs (all petting!), playing ball, and walks in the park and public events. She takes treats gently. She came to the pound as a stray, but was already spayed. Brida is house-trained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash with a regular collar or harness. She sometimes needs to be reminded of manners (waiting to jump in the car, not stealing treats off the counter, etc.), but she learns very quickly and is generally calm and well-mannered in the house and outside. Brida needs to meet new dogs slowly. She likes some larger, easy-going dogs, but may growl at dominant dogs, and chase cats or small dogs.
One weekend foster had this to say about Brida: "She is one smart dog. I've noticed that she likes to know where everyone is. She's affectionate, and sometimes wants to snuggle, but is often content just to be where she can keep an eye on everything." Brida is believed to be an Irish name meaning 'strength'. Since we don't know her background, as she was found as a stray, we are sure this name fits her perfectly.
