Gracie has an amazing story. She was abandoned at a local dumping ground in Onslow county. We took her into the rescue during the summer. The foster home that had her originally had about 12 dogs and 6 were female. Grace didn't do well in this environment and had to be crated for her protection. She was put into a boarding facility for several months before we took to her to our farm on Thanksgiving. She was very cautious and not very socially adept at dealing w/ other dogs for the first few days but she is a super smart girl. Still cautious around new people but amazingly loyal. She is a beautiful dog inside and out. She LOVES balls and will play with you for hours. She adapted quickly to our home with two male shepherds and there is 100% peace with all three of them. She would do well as a single dog if she was in a home where the person adopting her worked from home. She crates very well but at this point, she sleeps quietly in our bedroom at night and does not need a crate. She does like to play with other dogs and plays hard with a medium size puppy we have on our farm. She loves to run and will follow you anywhere. When I get ready to go to work in the morning, she sits quietly while watching you get dressed. She is SO happy to just watch you and be with you and love you. She was spayed sometime in the summer and we believe that she did have puppies at some point. She loves to be brushed. She is funny waiting her turn. She is learning to walk on a leash and ride in the truck and has adapted to all these things very quickly. She would be perfect for someone looking for a new best friend. For that person who would take her as many places as possible. She has this incredible smile when she sees you, almost as if she knows you saved her life. She is one special, beautiful girl and would thrive in dog classes once you bond with her and get her past the distractions. We love Grace and call her Grace or Gracie. Bring a squeaky ball when you meet her!
